I explained the entire tale and then explained that after 6 hours on the phone, an hour in store and 2 more hours on the phone with kobalt they have spent well over 100$ in customer service hours fighting to keep me from getting a replacement for a 5$ screw driver. I was disconnected 2 times (this time by accident not like kobalt did earlier) and speaking to 3 more representative I finally got to a person who could talk directly to a supervisor with lowes corporate. I'll update once I have more information.Įdit 3: After a total of 6 hours on the phone now directly with lowes customer support. Įdit 2: went to lowes after 1 hour of them and kobalt trading calls back and forth each blaming the other it was decided that for me to get my screw driver replaced I will need to get the entire kit it was originally part of and I would need to get the person who bought that kit for me 3 years ago to find the receipt. I really wanted to warn everyone about this please keep this in mind if you buy Kobalt tools! I'll update this post as the saga unfolds.Įdit: got a reply from a lowes employee on facebook. I'm going to go to lowes and try to fine my screw driver. I called another store who said they could replace it but only if it was a tool sold individually and not in a kit. So I called back got hung up on 3 more times for mentioning the word "broken screwdriver" and finally got someone to talk they said Lowes will replace it and they will report that store. Their phone tree still says that lowes will replace them free of charge but lowes said no they don't do that any more. They hung up on me 6 times when I mentioned I had a broken tool. When I called Kobalt support 18883562258. When I called them they said they haven't since June and I have to call Kobalt support. Lowes no longer honers the Kobalt tool warenty, & neither does kobalt. No Amazon affiliate links (they'll be removed by the Automod). No posts promoting crowdfunding projects.
